Islington Choral Society - Fauré Requiem

Islington Choral Society joins forces with the Orchestra of the London Choral Sinfonia for an evening featuring Fauré’s sublime Requiem. To complement this serene masterpiece on eternal rest and consolation, the programme includes 19th- and 20th-century French music: three Fauré settings, a simple but beautiful Ave Verum by Gounod, four impressive Motets by Dupré and a fine Tantum Ergo by the the lesser-known but fascinating Déodat de Séverac. Altogether an evening of calm yet joyful music.
